YOUR TIME, YOUR NEXT CHAPTER
A life in Malaysia, around and after retirement
Time for the lifeyou want together.
After years devoted to work and family, there is time to savour a quiet morning together. Explore a new everyday life in Malaysia, with a clear view of housing, residency and costs.
Discuss your retirement plansJapanese-language inquiries welcome, including early plans.
A LIFE THAT FEELS LIKE YOU
Make “one day abroad” part of your next chapter.
What if the freedom you feel on a holiday could be part of everyday life? Living abroad brings other questions: a convenient home, monthly commitments and time with family. Keep the aspiration, then make room for both partners’ priorities.
FROM A WISH TO A PLAN
Start with the day you want to live.
A neighbourhood you enjoy each day
Look beyond the view and floor area to groceries, meals, healthcare and transport. Think through an ordinary day, including heat and rain, before choosing a neighbourhood.
Know what remains for the things you love
Separate recurring housing, living, insurance and return travel costs from moving and application expenses. Review programme deposits and purchase conditions separately from money available for daily life.
A residency route that fits both of you
Consider a full move or an initial exploratory visit. Review age, funding, presence, housing and dependant conditions for MM2H or other routes before proceeding. Retirement relocation does not necessarily require a company.
YOUR WISHES. A CLEARER NEXT STEP.
You can start before you have decided.
Start with the places you are considering, daily routines you value, cost questions and timing. Bona’s Japanese-language contact can discuss priorities and open questions, then clarify scope, relevant contacts, costs and next steps.
Discuss your retirement plansBONA TRUST CORPORATION
A local point of contact for plans made from afar.
Bona Trust publishes contacts in Labuan and Kuala Lumpur and consultation routes for relocation, residency and Private Office matters. Confirm your named contact and engagement scope before proceeding.
Meet the team and company ↗Clinical, insurance, tax and immigration decisions remain with the relevant providers, advisers and authorities.
YOUR QUESTIONS, IN EVERYDAY TERMS
From a question to a next step.
Look forward to ordinary days again
Imagine a day you would enjoy repeating: a morning walk, an afternoon class, an easy dinner out. Choose locations and transport around those routines to see differences that views and floor area cannot show. Tell Bona how you want to spend your time.
Make time for each other again
Being in the same place does not mean wanting the same routine. Think about shared time and individual interests separately. Consider how differing priorities affect housing, transport and return visits, rather than planning around one partner’s compromise.
QUESTIONS BEFORE YOUR FIRST STEP
Questions before your next step.
Can we inquire before deciding on a permanent move?
Yes. Begin with your preferred lifestyle and timing, including an exploratory visit or a two-home arrangement. Short visits and long-term residency have different conditions to review.
Can a retired person consider MM2H?
It can be considered for long-term residence without an employment objective, subject to eligibility. Approval is not guaranteed. Check category-specific age, funding, housing and presence requirements against official information when applying.
Will our living costs be lower than in Japan?
There is no universal answer. Location, housing, medical insurance, return travel and exchange rates affect the total. Compare initial and recurring costs at the standard of living you want.
Does an inquiry commit us to a contract or property purchase?
An inquiry does not create a service contract or property purchase. Confirm scope, fees and contracting parties individually. Where a residency programme requires a purchase, review that condition before any commitment.
